Allen and Melody were joined by Dustin Tibbitts who discussed the unique “InnerChange” treatment programs that allowed teen girls and young adult women and their families to stabilize, heal, and begin to discover their life’s passion.

The gender-specific, family-focused and results-based treatments assisted the process of healing for females who are struggling with complex behavioral and emotional issues. Tibbits also discussed the treatment industry as a whole and discussed the value of behavioral vs relationship based treatment and why gender specific treatment is important.

Coordinating the development of New Haven’s Family Works approach, its values program, its clinical philosophy and its extensive employee training program, Tibbits has been at New Haven’s helm since 2001. He was a founding employee of New Haven in 1996 and began as a staff supervisor working directly with the teenagers.

Dustin’ Tibbits mental health experience includes seventeen years. He has worked with intensive in-patient residential treatment settings, as well as outpatient therapy, transition services, rape and suicide crisis lines. His personal experience includes raising five foster teenagers in his home. In 2006, he helped establish InnerChange. Later on in 2006, he assisted with the purchase of Sunrise. In 2007, he bought Fulshear Ranch Academy.
